In the joyful days of youth,
It is smiled upon by those older and wiser.
When a fancy is taken

The days grow longer and thoughts revolve ‘round your fancy.

Some use these long days wisely
And the days are full of bliss;
Others are shy and bite their tongues, and keep watching their fancy
From a terrible distance
Even if they are so close,
Their fancy is unattainable and it hurts,
Thoughts remain thoughts, yearning thoughts,
And with each day their heart breaks
That bit more but they hide it with desperation.
Silently screaming they try
To remain unfazed all while
Their feelings war deep inside with terrible strength.

When a fancy is taken
In the joyful days of youth,
It is smiled upon by those older and wiser.
Those older and wiser ones
Encourage the timid youth
To whisper those simple, heartfelt, meaningful words;
‘I love you with all my heart’.
One day I’ll find the courage
And, at last, tell them just how much they mean to me.
